Spitsbergen 5 is home to the Spitsbergen music studio. The recording studio is located in a completely renovated farmhouse from 1872. Its quiet location in the Groningen countryside allows musicians to work on music undisturbed at Studio Spitsbergen. The 'old part' houses the music studio, with a spacious guesthouse at the front. The studio is one with international allure, where well-known bands have recorded records. Focus, Herman Brood, Solutions and Ten Sharp, among others. Bauke, the producer, worked with Ronald Prent (Rammstein, David Bowie, Kane) & Tony Platt (AC/DC, Bob Marley), among others. Jan Douwe Kroeske's programme 2Metersessions also found the studio for recordings with well-known international artists.
