4-day adventure: discover Groningen: by land, sea and air

Go for adventure, for pure romance, for the ultimate adrenaline kick! You will experience a unique adventure in the most beautiful areas of the Northern Netherlands. You will enjoy the breathtaking natural areas the province of Groningen has to offer in various ways. A spectacular experience because your trip literally goes 'on land', 'at sea' and 'in the air'. This will be a weekend to remember.

A 4-day adventurous weekend that starts with a sailing trip on the Wadden Sea in a fast rescue boat, and stopping at a sandbank at sunset, where seals are resting? WOW! Super romantic ánd sensational is the moment when you see the sun slowly setting in the sea, the sky and water changing into the most beautiful colours. That will make you quiet, and it is only possible on the Wadden Sea north of Lauwersoog in Groningen.

The next day, you will experience the Wadden Sea in a completely different way, namely on a mudflat trip from Pieterburen. At low tide, you take a trip across the bottom of the sea. While walking the mud flats, you pass salt marshes, mud flats, sandbanks that have run dry and deeper channels. Sometimes you sink to your knees in the mud, and occasionally you have to wade through such a gully and the water comes up to your waist! Experience the silence, and with your own eyes you will see how rich life is in the Wadden area. When you finally get back to the dike, the mud may be up to your ears, you may be worn out and feel all your muscles, but you will take this experience with you for the rest of your life. Unforgettable.

After two days of Wadden adventures, you will travel on to the other side of Groningen, to the Oldambt, the Grain Republic. There, another unique experience awaits you. You are going to fly! Step into the Cessna 172 and experience what it is like to fly as freely as a bird, over the vast Groningen countryside to the Wadden Sea and over the Wadden Islands. Sensational and impressive. That will make you quiet again.

After landing, you can enjoy the special atmosphere and nature of the Reiderwolde nature reserve in peace and quiet, with both feet on the ground. It is a former agricultural area, with still recognisable remnants from the Ice Age, which has been transformed by its own people, farmers and artists into a unique nature reserve with woods, flowery fields, swamps. You will also come across fruit trees everywhere along the way. In the harvest season, you can pick apples, pears or plums to your heart's content. The best spot is the red observation tower above the amphitheatre. From there you have a fantastic view; with clear weather you can see as far as Germany.

After the third night at a beautiful location in Oldambt and breakfast, your Groningen trip by land, sea and air is over.

Pricing

Travel date: bookable from April to mid-October. Every weekend, subject to availability

Travel price: €690.00 pp (minimum two adults) (single supplement not applicable)

Included: three overnight stays incl. breakfast * sailing trip in RIB-boat, approx. one hour; mudflat trip incl. mudflat walking shoes; one-hour flight over Groningen/Wadden Sea * Booking and administration fee, tourist tax.

Not included: other meals and all drinks * option: rental bike, TukTuk, canoe/boat * parking costs own car * travel and/or cancellation insurance * tips * personal expenses.

Accommodation: The first two days and nights you will stay in atmospheric accommodation with a unique location, close to Lauwersoog and the Wadden. The third night you will stay in an equally unique and comfortable accommodation in the Oldambt area.

Information and reservations:

Booking and deposit: After booking, you will receive a confirmation from us and also the invoice. A deposit of 25% of the total travel sum is due within 14 days of booking. The remaining amount is due no later than 6 weeks before the booking date. If the trip is booked within 4 weeks before departure, the entire travel sum is payable at once.

Cancellation If you cancel your booking, the following cancellation charges are payable:-

• cancellation up to 42 days before the day of departure the deposit: 25% of the travel sum
• from 42 days up to 30 days before the day of departure: 40% of the travel sum
• from 30 days to 7 days before the day of departure: 75% of the travel sum
• from 7 days before departure: 100%.
