Beeldbepalend

# # The development of the village is linked to the foundation in the 13th century of the Premonstratensian monastery Mons Oliveti - Olive Mountain. The oldest mention dates back to 1287, when a flood drowned many nuns. After the Reformation, the monastery buildings of the Veenklooster were demolished and the land sold. The names of the village, and of several roads, still recall the monastery.
