Iconic places of unparalleled beauty can be found in Drenthe, in Groningen, in Friesland, on the Wadden coasts and on the islands. Surely these are the locations every photographer dreams of.

During this 6-day photo trip, you will take pictures of the enormous variety of the North, including medieval villages, the vastness of the land under spectacular cloudy skies, dreamy moors, sand drifts, primeval forests, rivers and lakes and the overwhelming life in the Wadden area.

The North of the Netherlands has everything to make a photographer's mouth water.

Landscapes with a high WOW-value, rough stretches with marshes, lumpy shiny clay soil ploughed in long furrows to distant ends, lovely green meadows and silver-white sand drifts and in between at times an immense country, which changes colour every season as the rapeseed blossoms, the grain ripens from green to yellow. In the distance the imposing farms from which the wealth and glory of yesteryear radiate.

Suddenly you also come across dreamy and intimate vistas, forests, heathland, medieval mound and mound villages, as well as water: lots of water in puddles, lakes, meandering rivers, straight old canals.

In the villages and towns, you will be surprised by the old and new architecture.

During this photo trip, you will photograph all this and of course the incomparable impact of the UNESCO Wadden Sea region. Together with you, the photographers will choose the best moments of the day and night.

We prefer to call this photo trip the 'Northern Lights' photo trip. Because that is what you will be doing; following and capturing the light of the North, from sunrise to sunset and on clear nights.

During the trip, you will stay in two different locations that are centrally located. From those locations, travel distances are fairly limited - to about 50 km. For driving distances, we use a 9-seater van with driver. One day we make the crossing to a Wadden Island. In the evening, we are back on the mainland.

It is difficult to choose from the many highlights. We will contact you in advance. To find out how long you have been photographing, which learning goals you have, and which themes and photography locations appeal most to you. With this exploration, the guide will put together a programme of photo locations we will visit.

In each case, the photographer will take you to these special places:

• the UNESCO-Hondsrug Global Geo Park in Drenthe, with its megalithic tombs, vast heaths, sand drifts and the transition to the Hunzedal
• the outer dike marshes of the Wadden Sea
• the darkness in the Lauwersmeer area and/or on the Wadden Sea
• terp and wierden villages,
• Groningen medieval churches and Frisian belfries with bells weighing 800 kg or more
• historic borg sites.

This 6-day Photo Trip in the North will be an experience of a lifetime in a region, which after this week, you will not want to leave!

Travel price: from €1,250.00 per person. (Single person supplement €300.00.)

Group size: Minimum 6, maximum 10 people. With a minimum of 6 people, the trip is guaranteed to go ahead.

Carriage: During trip, transport is in a comfortable passenger bus. Rented bicycles (e-bikes) are available for planned cycling trips .

Intensity of the trip: This trip is relatively intensive in parts. Therefore, you (and/or your fellow traveller) should be able to walk without personal assistance and aids. If you know yourself to be less able-bodied, we do not recommend registering for this trip.

Information and reservations:

Booking and deposit After booking, you will receive a confirmation from us and also the invoice. A deposit of 25% of the total travel sum is due within 3 days of sending the travel confirmation. The remaining amount is due no later than 6 weeks before the booking date. If the trip is booked within 4 weeks before departure, the entire travel sum is payable at once.

Cancellation If you cancel your booking, the following cancellation fees are due:-

• cancellation up to 42 days before the day of departure: 25% of the travel sum
• from 42 days to 30 days before the day of departure: 40% of the travel sum
• from 30 days to 7 days before the day of departure: 75% of the travel sum
• from 7 days before departure: 100%.
