Welcome to the North of the Netherlands, where you can visit five unique World Heritage UNESCO monuments. This LocalLime trip takes you to places where history, nature, cultural heritage come together and will give you plenty of inspiration to explore the North further.

Visits to the four UNESCO World Heritage Sites are included in the trip, complemented by other remarkable stops as well. It will be a time travel from the Ice Age period to the future.

In seven days, you will travel through the history of Earth and humanity and experience the connection between the past and present in a unique way.

This LocalLime trip will take you to places where history, nature and cultural heritage and future are connected in a fascinating way.

We will explore the Netherlands' (currently) only Unesco Global Geopark with its geological monuments. Experience a history that goes back thousands of years, with its prehistoric finds such as dolmens, tombs, celtic fields.

At the same time, you can see with your own eyes how the area is adapting to the requirements of the present time and the future, with the creation of a unique wetland.

Admire the vast Unesco Wadden area, considered the most beautiful nature reserve in the Netherlands. Part of these Waddenexperiences are a mudflat walk and a boat trip.

Marvel at the UNESCO monument "the Colony of Weldadigheid" in Veenhuizen, about a unique social experiment that was internationally emulated in its time.

And marvel at unparalleled examples of technical ingenuity in water management, so typical of Dutch water management. A visit to the impressive Wouda pumping station is, of course, also on the programme.

We will also do our utmost to visit the oldest planetarium in the world, the Eise Eisinga planetarium in Franeker. This unique planetarium has been added to the list of Dutch UNESCO monuments as the newest UNESCO monument since September 2023.

In short, it will be a time travel from the stone age into the future.

The whole trip is dedicated to nature, culture and heritage. Alternately, you will visit stunning landscapes, Natura 2000 areas, historic villages, pre-historic discoveries, medieval churches.-

Travel price: from €1,665.00 per person. (Single person supplement €300.00.)

Group size: Minimum 6, maximum 10 people. With a minimum of 6 people, the trip is guaranteed to go ahead.

Intensity of trip: This trip is relatively intensive in parts. Therefore, you (and/or your fellow traveller) should be able to walk without personal assistance and aids. If you know yourself to be less able-bodied, we do not recommend registering for this trip.

Information and reservations:

Booking and deposit After booking, you will receive a confirmation from us and also the invoice. A deposit of 25% of the total travel sum is due within 14 days of booking. The remaining amount is due no later than 6 weeks before the booking date. If the trip is booked within 4 weeks before departure, the entire travel sum is payable at once.
