If you still have time and oomph left, a visit to this historic fortified village is definitely worthwhile! From Nieuweweg, turn left into Ulsderweg, approx. 6.6 km there and back. Incl. a walk, this outing takes about 45 minutes. Nieuwe Schans was still on the Dollard in the 17th century and played an important role in the battle against the water and during the 80-year war against enemy troops.
