In 1952, this building was commissioned by 'Van Houten Chocolaterie' of Amsterdam. It is a fine example of Amsterdam School architecture. For a long time, chocolates were made and packaged there. In early 1970, the premises were sold to Mr Bouwman, who took over as 'the Biscuit Factory'. Biscuits were baked there until 1997. The building then stood for sale for 16 years, but has been in new hands since December 2021. There are now plans to revitalise the building
