Boslaan, Museum Klooster Ter Apel. Park your car here in the car park of Hotel Boschhuis Ter Apel. Enjoy a cup of coffee and some goodies, or lunch at Hotel Boschhuis, and take a short walk through the Monastery Forest if you feel like it.

Construction for the Ter Apel Monastery began in 1465. Archaeological research has established that a farm and chapel had stood here before that in 1216. An ideal spot along the centuries-old trade route from Münster to Groningen. Since 1992, the monastery has been among the UNESCO top 100 unique buildings in the Netherlands. There is much to tell about the monastery's history, all the developments over the centuries and its significance. A visit to the Klooster Museum is therefore well worthwhile. Maybe not today, but highly recommended some other time.
