The Regional History Centre is housed in a monumental manor farm from 1884. The museum has a permanent exhibition on how the Stadskanaal was dug and the region developed afterwards. The museum is growing a bit out of the joints of its current premises. Therefore, there are plans to move the museum in 2022 - together with the city library - to the building 't Kofschip (earlier in the itinerary)
