Once, the municipality of Bierum had as many as 15 bakers. Now only one of those remains: Olinga Bakery! The bakery was built in 1850 and came into the possession of Jo Olinga in 1950. After his retirement, his son Harry took over the business and it has been in the family ever since. At this bakery, you can get the tastiest authentic Groninger biscuits, with which they even became Dutch champions several times! So while you're here, it's not a bad idea to taste it.
